|Magic Degree||7th degree mage|
First Appearance Edit
Hanko is a strong mage with thinning black hair. He looks approximately 35-40 years of age. He is thin and tall. He chooses to wear his dragon stone on his chest, even after the death of his dragon, Charlight.
When a group of rebel dragon riders, Elias Dorgumir included, entered Morholt and faced off against Emperor Vosper and his necromancers in the palace, Hanko had already been captured and chained in the palace throne room along with his dragon, Duskeye. They had been tortured. Hanko managed to break free, but he was too late and Charlight died. Hanko became enraged and revealed his true power as a spirit conjurer. Necromancers are able to summon spirits, but controlling them is virtually impossible. Hanko summoned countless spirits of slain dragons and their riders, none of which needed to be controlled. Together, the spirits killed Emperor Vosper and his necromancers. It almost killed Hanko, but Elias was able to save him, and Hanko made certain the spirits left without harming anyone else.
Unique powers Edit
Hanko was a conjurer, or “spirit-handler,” which meant that he excels in black magic as well as in necromancy. Although many spellcasters dabbled in dark magic to some degree, Hanko’s gift was exceptionally rare. He could conjure spirits without the use of a demon gate, as well as easily control them. He could trap them inside a spirit prison, which he had the power to create himself, using almost any type of crystal.
Of course, like any other mage, Hanko’s powers had limits. Spirit conjuring was extremely risky, even for an experienced spellcaster like him. Aggressive spirits could be dangerous. More than once, he had come close to being killed by the very creatures he sought to control. The experience had left him wary of using the darker aspects of his powers.
